Love me now

I have been positively OBSESSED with this song. When this boy is good he's REAL good. I'd put it up but the file is a weird format. Just download it!

"Noone Would Riot for Less" by Bright eyes

death may come invisible, or in the holy wall of fire.
in the breath between the markers, on some black I-80 mile.
from the madness of the government, to the vengeance of the sea.
well everything is eclipsed by the shape of destiny.
so love me now, hell is coming.
you kiss my mouth, hell is here.

little soldier, little insect, you know war it has no heart,
it will kill ye in the sunshine, or happily in the the dark.

where kindness is a card game, or a bent up cigarette.
in the trenches, in the hard rain, with a bullet and a bet.

he says help me out, hell is coming.
but could you do it now? hell is here.

see the sterile soil, poisoned sky, yellow water,
the final scraps of light bringing new tears.

well wake, baby, wake.
but leave that blanket around you, there's nowhere else safe.
i'm leaving this place, but there's nothing i'm planning to take;
just you, just you, just you, just you-

Ivy League Hell

This song makes me shake my bootie.

LCD Sound System - Daft Punk is Playing at my House

The admissions process for Grad School is making me want to pee my pants and possibly puke all over the place.

I don't remember basic Algebra let alone GRE math. I don't remember how to write a personal essay that's under three pages but full of imagery and self masturbatory flattery. I don't remember how to pay for school, especially one that charges $1,033 per credit.

I do remember wanting to go to this one school from when I was younger but too poor to afford it. I do remember that little voice in my head that makes me strive for more than I can comfortably reach for. I do remember how fucking stubborn I am.

This is so going to suck.

Facebook Withdrawal

Please read below an excerpt from a real life worker whose Facebook is taken away. I must warn you, some of what you're about to read is explicit.

M: ahhhhh
my connectivity to the world has been compromised
FUCK THIS
FUCK THIS OFFICE
FUCK LACK OF FACEBOOK

M: AND FUCK THIS "Success is everything. Failure, we are fucked" shit.
People are fucking crazy
I want to call him up and say "YOU'RE FUCKED! YOU'RE FUCKED!!"
fuck California too while we're at it.
Fucking hippie wheat grass drinking hybrid car driving fucking losers.
Fuck them.
And fuck the 925 area code too. If I see one more god damn call from a 925 number I'm going to shit in the phone. Hey does Urban Outfitters have a new fall collection out? Or is it still summer?

numbers suck

Why can't a 3.79 GPA be 3.8?
As I've mentioned to everybody as well as on this blog over and over again - I studied abroad in college.

It's a big factor of who I am today blah blah I loved it blah blah and it's why I do the work I do.

In England I met Dom, Jesse, and Dina three of my favorite people in this big big world.

Dom and Dina are sisters and Jesse is a boy from Ohio.

I will never again have such a fun time trying to find ice cream as I did one night with them, driving around a circle about five times and actually seeing my very first English ghetto.

Today, a day before my birthday, a large package was waiting for me on my chair. Inside were about five Kate Bush albums from Dina.

That's not a random thing. Kate Bush is directly linked to my experience in England.

The dorm I spent most of my time in the UK drinking, smoking pot, eating lamb kebabs was surrounded by a large lake.

I was there during my favorite season Fall, and it being England fog sprawled across the top of the water like a mountain of fluffy white cotton. Every time this happened, I would peel open my room curtains, rub my temples, scold myself for having absolutely no alcohol tolerance, and then stare at the disappearing lake.

On the foggiest days, I would walk around the lake with my ipod thinking about what I had done by leaving home for so long. The reasons why I left home came to me weeks into my stay, but the music and fog helped me get there. The two albums that were always just a wheel click away during these walks were Kate Bush "Hounds of Love" and Frou Frou "Let Go."

Listening to songs like "Running up That Hill" and "Breathe In" is really making me nostalgic and simultaneously I remember that I love my life.

Sometimes it's just good to remind myself of that.

Song of the Week for me

Love this song - they did a great job live with it too.

01 Silver Lining.mp3

and I'm not going back
into rags or in the hole
and our bruises are coming
but we will never fold

and I was your silver lining
as the story goes
I was your silver lining
but now I'm gold

hooray hooray
I'm your silver lining
hooray hooray
but now I'm gold

and I was your silver lining
high up on my toes
we were running through fields of hitch-hikers
as the story goes

hooray hooray
I'm your silver lining
hooray hooray
but now I'm gold

hooray hooray
I'm your silver lining
hooray hooray
but now i'm gold

and the grass it was a ticking
and the sun was on the rise
I never felt so wicked
as when I willed our love to die

and I was your silver lining
as the story goes
I was your silver lining
but now i'm gold

hooray hooray
I'm your silver lining
hooray hooray
but now I'm gold

but now I'm gold
but now I'm gold

So You Think You Can Dance

Ok so last Summer a friend of mine kept insisting I watched "So You Think You Can Dance." I laughed in his face. I agreed to watch the first top 20 night and was blown away by how good the dancers and the choreography was. I'm not an expert at dance all I know is that these dances were exciting and fun and made me feel something. This year I find myself repeating the dances over and over again like a crazy ballet teacher.

You'll find my two favorite couples below Mark/Chelsea and Katee/Joshua. I find Mark very cute in a weird he's going to only be hot when he dances kind of way. I also find Katee hot, I'd bang her but only if she was dancing while we did it.

Oh, and the Bollywood dance that Katee and Joshua performed last night was fucktacular.

Hell yeah Mia Michaels. I want to be held up by a hot muscular man as I daintily glide across the stage.

First hip hop on the show I LOVED. I have a confession to make. I actually really really like this song.

This is alot less creepy than the Bollywood clip I watched on Puntabulous.

My favorite performance (Another hip hop go figure) by my second favorite couple Mark and Chelsea

Montreal

On July 4th a snow leopard, two bears, and I (black leopard) went to Montreal. No we're not power rangers. The reason for the animal farm is that my friend J considers himself a bear cub(big and hairy) so we talked about what animals we would be.

M of course is a snow leopard because we couldn't think of any animal that is waspy. I mean i guess you can be a wasp but snow leopards are so much cooler.

Anyway, everything was great. I love Montreal every time I go there especially the weather. If NYC had no humidity it'd be a peach, but damn can this city make you wet.

The only downfall of the entire weekend was coming back to the United States. We waited on the border for FOUR hours. Do you know how long four fucking hours is? We listened to every single song we could, peed off to the side of highway (very liberating) and started going crazy.

At one point a ghetto van filled with sistahs (gay boys and latinas hollah!) was cut off (in slow motion because we were all moving 0 miles per hour.) The girl in the middle seat totally ghettoed out. She spent about fifteen minutes performing nasty hand gestures and emotional yelling for all of us desperately needing entertainment. I think it's really scary when someone can have an argument with someone in another car when the person in the other car isn't paying attention. I wouldn't want to hair pull with this girl. Her hoop earrings would come right off and she'd probably know how to throw them like ninja stars with deadly precision.

The best part of the whole ordeal was being detained by the immigration police. My passport was stolen a few years ago in Dominican Republic. The thief then tried to get into the country with it. Needless to say, every time I cross back into US borders I am red flagged. After severely butchering my name and asking me lots of fun questions, we were on to New York!

Great trip was had!
